I was interested in your letter because I have been searching for information on the affect of methadone on someone with hepatitis. I was shocked and dismayed to discover I had both Hep B&C. I have tried to educate myself on treatment, etc., but could find nothing about the use of methadone and its impact, negative or otherwise, on my liver and hep.

I never knew I had hep, in fact I thought, unlike so many other drug users, I had been careful and avoided this. I too had a car accident many years ago, before there was blood screening, so this may be the source of my hep. Also, I have not been able to find information about having both B&C. Does that make it worse?

I have been taking herbal supplements to support my liver, and do not drink. I too used to drink when I was not on the methadone. I would appreciate any medical information about my condition, either through MIE, or e-mail me at: ejust49@aol.com.
