This is in response to the person who's letter was printed without permission. I would like to apologize to the writer of the letter, as well as Eric and everyone who visits this site or reads my newsletter, Methadone Awareness, where the letter was inadvertently printed. When I found out about this incident last week, I immediately contacted the writer personally and expressed my deepest apologies to her. I never meant for anything like this to happen. It was simple human error on my part - I make a habit of ALWAYS getting permission from the individual authors of everything I find of interest on the net. This one slipped by me somehow - I was rushing to get the issue done and to the printer, and I thought I had gotten her permission. I was wrong, and I feel absolutely sick about it. I never intended to harm this person or cause her stress at her clinic - that is the LAST thing I aim to do with the MA newsletter! The whole purpose of the newsletter is to educate and advocate for patients rights, NOT to bring them distress! There is no excuse for the mistake I made, but I hope that everyone who reads this site and MA will do there best to understand, and that you will continue to contribute to this site as well as the newsletter. Also, there seems to be no problems for this woman at her clinic - I am in contact with both her and the director of her clinic.
Sincerely,
Katharine Bolton, Editor, Methadone Awareness newsletter
